  After finding out an epilator bought in Sydney has a crack in the main attachment I called ahead to see what could be done about exchanging the product. I was told by the shop assistant that they had "plenty" of spare parts and to just bring the part down to swap out. Well, wasn't that a wasted three hour journey with a screaming baby and toddler. At the store, the same shop assistant couldn't remember talking to me on the phone, before remembering but then telling me because the damage wasn't major she wouldn't do anything and the company wouldn't help because the receipt states they don't do refunds/exchanges for change of mind.

  This is Easter Monday. I haven't visited the shop yet, because it's impossible to tell if it's open. The Google ad says it's open from 9am - 5:30pm, but it's Easter, so that may be wrong. If you look at the opening hours for Westfield, it says the centre is open from 10am - 4pm, but then if you do a search on the Westfield site for the Shaver Shop, you get a web-page that tells you on the left hand side of the page that the shop is closed today, but on the right hand side of the page it tells you the shop closes at 4pm, implying that it's open today. If you ring the telephone number, you get a recorded message saying they can't get to the phone, but that they will call you back if you leave your number. However, I got the same message yesterday when the shop was closed. When I rang the information desk at Westfield, they assured me the shop was open today. Confused? You betcha! Who or what do you believe?

  The receipt also states that they will exchange for a damaged item you wouldn't have bought otherwise or repair/replace if the damage is minor - well.. I certainly wouldn't have wasted my time with this store if I had have known they won't honour their obligations because I wouldn't have wasted my money on a broken item in the first place.
